Wildfire Risk Mitigation

The wildfires seem to get bigger and faster.  What can be done to protect your property and even your life?  It turns out that the biggest risk is not the actual fire, but rather the hot embers that are blown into the property.  One must build a defensible perimeter around the house and the property.

That doesn’t mean that every tree near the house has to be removed.  Many people move to where there is a beautiful forest. A defensible space plan doesn’t mean that all the trees have to be removed.  Some trees can be considered part of the house. However, precautions must be taken.

Please remember that no fire protection plan will work in a 90 mile per hour fire storm.  You must have an escape plan.  However, a defensible space plan will protect you and your property from a normal slow moving fire.

Give us a call, and we can help you with a plan to protect yourself against fire.
